2010-10-07 “Verslo žinios”, Russian banks need Lithuanian banking systemsThe Forbis Company, a developer of banking systems, signed an agreement with Bigbank, which will implement their systems in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Finland.
“A year and a half ago after obtaining the support, we made an investigation of the situation to find out to what countries we might expand, since in Lithuania there remained little space for our activity. We saw that we might be successful in the post-soviet countries, because heads of banks of Russia and other countries are of a similar age, we are aware of their mentality and the values. Besides the knowledge of the Russian language unites us”, so Šarūnas Mačiulis, commercial director of Forbis, explained the situation, why it was decided to expand not to the EU countries, but rather to the East.
