In the middle of July 2010 Minsk Transit Bank (MTB) successfully migrated to BIS FORPOST release 4.5.2
In the middle of July 2010 Minsk Transit Bank (MTB) migrated to BIS FORPOST release 4.5.2, which was released and announced in the beginning of June 2010. Vasily Shpakovsky Head of MTB IT Department commented on this event:
“Our division faced the task of implementing a number of updates in May 2010, which would satisfy the business requirements of the bank. It was decided to wait until the last 4.5.2 release of the FORPOST system is issued. Immediately after the release of updates, our administrators installed FORPOST 4.5.2 on the test complex, and we started to work intensively. The project distinguished for certain particular traits:
- it took 1 month to satisfy all the business requirements and plans of the bank;
- our bank was the first to implement 4.5.2 release of the FORPOST system, thus, the set of updates was not completely formed;
- in addition to the large scope of new functionality of the release, we had to check the operation of our code, which is quite a time-consuming task.
In accordance with the plan, we performed transition to release 4.5.2 on the operational environment in the middle of July 2010. Alongside with the required updates obtained from the Forbis Company there were resolved certain problems, which occurred due to the ORACLE system errors when working with OS resources:
- the output of the FORPOST system release 4.5.2 is higher, than that of the first FORPOST 4.5.0 release related to CBO (Cost Based Optimizer); the administrators noticed lower consumption of resources, as well as reduction of the time required for performing sets of tasks;
- after implementation of BIS FORPOST release 4.5.2 there currently has appeared a favourable situation for performing transition to FORMS10. This project has already been started by the bank, and our specialists are now being trained“.
